The Buddy Program is a special “community-building” program that has been a long standing tradition at St. A's designed to foster relationships between grades and establish a foundation of interpersonal skills in the children.

Each child in Kindergarten is paired with a sixth grade buddy. Throughout the school year, the two grades come together for a variety of activities and to celebrate each other's achievements. Examples include service projects, crafts, class parties, story time, escorting the young ones to their classrooms in the morning, the Kindergarten Natural History Museum project, walking together in the Halloween parade and the beloved Kindergarten Graduation Play & Ceremony.

Buddies remain together over the course of the next two years, participating in similar activities. When students are in second and eighth grade, they support each other as the prepare and receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion and Confirmation, respectively.
